Andrei Lunyov, who was transferred by "Qarabag" in the summer of 2023, gave an interview to Offsideplus.az after the Azerbaijan Cup final (2:1) against "Zira".

The Russian goalkeeper talked about the upcoming 2023-24 season, the end of his contract with the Agdam representative and the situation between him and the club.

Here is the interview:

— How was the current season for you?
— I think that in general we had a very good season, we won 2 titles. We showed a good level of football in Europe. We can play good or bad, but we deserve everything we win. Thank you to our fans. They supported us everywhere, in every country. We felt the energy and strength they gave us.

— If we look back at the games with "Bayer 04", would you change anything?
— No, because this is football. True, we could have played well in some situations. In general, I would like to thank "Qarabag", its management and employees for this season. The club believed in me, especially the head coaching staff, Gurban Gurbanov. I think I didn't play too bad this season, it was thanks to him. I am very grateful.

— From your words, it seemed that you are saying goodbye to "Karabakh"... Is that so?
— It seems so now. Other issues will be discussed later.

— How is the situation with the club?
- Everything is fine. Our relationship with the club is fine.

— Have there been negotiations on a new contract?

— The situation is such that we are just waiting for the end of the season.
